Job Description Nalco Champion, an Ecolab Company, has an immediate need for a Chemical Operator I in our Energy Services - Logistics group located in Aztec, NM. Job Overview:
Primarily responsible for delivery of chemicals and treating and frac equipment. Responsible for safe operation and preventative maintenance of any type of vehicle used to deliver chemicals to customers, plants and/or warehouse locations.
Territory/Location Information:This
position
is based in Aztec, NM.
Main
Responsibilities:
o Determines most efficient routing and drives DOT trucks on and off public roads to access heavy industrial locations
o Operates high and low pressure fluid pumping equipment for the purpose of dispensing product into containers or customers equipment, which may include an oil or gas producing well
o Maintains equipment, routine servicing, insures preventative maintenance keeping equipment clean and lubricated
o Operates forklift for the purpose of moving, repackaging, loading and unloading containers of product, assists with upkeep of district warehouse facilities
o Performs blending of approved product under strict written instructions
o Completes required paperwork in accordance with DOT such as pre/post trip inspections, logs, bills of lading and for the purpose of insuring product delivery-chain of custody-invoicing
o Actively participates in safety training, observation based and near miss reporting
Basic
Qualifications:
o Minimum high school graduate or GED
o Must have a current Class A or B Commercial Driver s License (CDL), issued by the state in which the candidate resides with all the relevant endorsements (X - HazMat & Tanker required)
o One (1) year of commercial driving experience compliant with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and DOT regulations
o Must have an acceptable motor vehicle record (5 years)
o Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.

Preferred
Qualifications:
o Previous oil and gas well experience
o Knowledge of precautions needed if exposed to H2S (hydrogen sulfide)
o Experience with the operation of forklifts, drum dollies and trailer hoists, chemical pumps, hoses, meters, printers and gauges
o Experience with handling products in various types of packages including bulk, drums, Porta-Feeds and mini/micro-feed units
o Experience performing warehouse duties, which include preventative maintenance, inventory and ordering of chemicals, receiving incoming shipments, organizing warehouse for safe and efficient chemical storage, operation of customized chemical manufacturing equipment and the upkeep of warehouse grounds
o Awareness of chemical safety and the measures to take in the event of skin contact or spill
o Previous experience operating a pump truck
o Previous heavy industrial (oilfield/plant/refinery) experience
o Communicates both written and orally in English
o Ability to operate a
computer
including web based programs
o Fork lift certification
